In this series of individual age discrimination lawsuits the plaintiffs alleged that they were wrongfully terminated from their positions at Technip because of their age. The plaintiffs also alleged that the company’s management had a pattern of favoring younger workers over older workers. In these cases Dr. Steward was retained to perform a labor force analysis of the jobs at issue in the lawsuit and a statistical analysis of the termination rates of younger and older workers. After a review of the timing and structure of the employer’s reduction in force action Dr. Steward found no statistical evidence consistent with any type of bias against older workers.
