Dr. Dwight Steward and his associates were retained in this wrongful death case to calculate the economic losses resulting from the death of Mr. Librado Diaz. The analysis includes lost wages fringe benefits and household services. Lost longevity payments are also relevant in this case as the Texas Legislature authorizes payments for longevity for state employees. Prior to his death Mr. Diaz was employed as a groundskeeper at a residential facility providing services for those diagnosed with mental retardation. The loss of wages longevity payments and fringe benefits calculated by Dr. Steward are based on Mr. Diaz’s historical earnings in that position.
