In this case Dr. Dwight Steward was retained to provide an analysis of Philip Rogers’ projected earnings capacity and the present value of his life care plan. The plaintiff sustained injuries related to a heart attack and is no longer expected to be able to work. Dr. Steward calculated the plaintiff’s lost earnings fringe benefits and loss of ability to perform household services. He based these calculations upon the Mr. Rogers’ historical earnings and publicly available labor market data. In calculating the present value of the life care plan Dr. Steward relied upon projected future costs of medical services and items such as outpatient physician services and medications.
