Dwight Steward was retained in this case to provide an analysis of the plaintiff’s economic damages. Dr. Dutta was a medical doctor and university professor who alleges that his employment was wrongfully terminated. Dr. Steward provided two ‘but-for’ economic damage scenarios in his report. Both scenarios assume Dr. Dutta will successfully obtain employment as a university professor at a level comparable to his employment at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (UT-Southwestern). The first scenario assumes Dr. Dutta will remain at his current assistant professor salary level throughout his work life and the second scenario assumes he will receive a promotion to associate professor after approximately five years as an assistant professor.
